I. Educational Objectives


This program is aimed at cultivating senior professional talents who process solid mathematical foundation and mathematical thinking ability. Besides, they are expected to master the basic theories, methods and skills of information and computing science. After getting the basic training for scientific research, they are supposed to be able to solve practical problems of information technology and science as well as engineering computing. Upon graduation, students should be qualified to undertake works of researching, education, application, development and management in the fields of science and technology, education, information industry, economics and finance, and to pursue their further studies for master’s degree.

  

II. Education Requirements


Upon graduation, students are required


1. to have a solid mathematical foundation of the basic theories and methods of information science and computing science;


2. to be proficient in computer application(including common programming language, instrument and some specialized software); to have strong algorithm analysis, algorithm design and programming ability;


3. to solve practical problems in information technology and science as well as engineering computing with the help of professional theories, methods and skills;


4. to receive basic training of scientific research, well-informed of the development of the discipline with innovative consciousness, and up-dated knowledge of the field.

IV. Curriculum and Credit Distribution


1. General Education Courses (51 credits)


Requirements: 41 credits for compulsory courses;10 credits for elective courses 


2.Basic Disciplinary Courses (41 credits)


     Requirements: the total of 41 credits for basic courses in the discipline.


3. Specialty-Oriented  Courses(59 credits)


Requirements: 40 credits for compulsory specialty-oriented courses; 19 credits for elective specialty-oriented courses.


4. Optional Courses(6 credits)


Requirements: 6 credits.
