I.Educational Objectives

The major is aimed at training students to acquire the fundamental engineering technology and other professional knowledge in a wide range concerning electrotechnology, electronic technique, theory of control, automatic measure technology and meter, information processing, systematic engineering, computer technology and application and intelligent control,  so as to be able to undertake the task of system analysis, system design, system operation, technology development and research in the field of motion control, industrial process control, power electronics, measurement technology&instrument automation , electronic and computer technology, information processing, management and decision making. Students are supposed to be qualified to work abroad or in foreign-funded enterprises at home and undertake technical work with the help of good English communication skills.

 

II. Education Requirements

Students of this major are acquainted with the basic theoretical knowledge  of Electrotechnics, Technology of Electronics, Control Theory, Information Processing,Systematic Engineering, Measurement Technology & Instrument Automation , Computer Technology and Application ,Intelligent Control, receiving better engineering practical training so as to be equipped with fundamental abilities as system analyzing, designing, developing and researching.

Upon graduation, students are expected

1. to build up a solid foundation of the knowledge about natural science, humanities and social sciences, and to be able to use a foreign language with ease;

2. to have a good command of wide range of knowledge and fundamental theories of this major, including circuit theory, technology of electronics, theory of control, information processingcomputer software&hardware design and application and etc..

3. to have a good grasp of knowledge involving motion control, industrial process control, automation instrument, power electronic technology and information procesing, to acquire professional knowledges and skills in one or two specialty directions,to learn about the theoretical current issues and the trend in the specialty;

4. to accept better engineering practice training in the field of system analysis, system design and system development;

5. to be equipped with fundamental abilities of scientific research, development and administration ,and to have strong working adaptability;

6. to be proficient in English, fluent in English conversation with foreign technical personnel;

IV. Curriculum and Credit Distribution

1. General Education Courses (54 credits)

Requirements: 44 credits for compulsory courses;10 credits for elective courses 

2.Basic Disciplinary Courses (41 credits)

    Requirements: the total of 41 credits for Basic Courses in the Discipline.

3. Specialty-Oriented Courses(56 credits)

Requirements: 40 credits for compulsory specialty-oriented courses; 16 credits for elective specialty-oriented courses.

4. Optional Courses(6 credits)

Requirements: 6 credits.

5. Second Class(Extracurricular Activities)(3 credits)
