I. Educational Objectives

The program is aimed at cultivating inter-disciplinary talents with good political quality who are morally, intellectually and physically well-developed. The students are required to systematically master the basic theoretical knowledge of energy engineering and automation; be familiar with the status quo and frontier of this specialty. With the help of energy-saving and emission reduction technologies concerning Communications and transportation, students are expected to engage in the development and exploitation of renewable energy like solar energy, wind and etc. as well as undertake designing, researching and managing work in the fields of energy environmental protection, energy engineering and automation, refrigeration and air-conditioning.

  

II. Education Requirements

Students of this major are primarily taught the basic theoretical knowledge of energy engineering and engineering thermophysics and receive the basic skill training of modern energy engineers thus processing the basic capability in researching, designing, manufacturing, developing systems and equipments in the field of energy especially renewable sources and are qualified to undertake  equipments’integrated operation and management work as well as production organization work.

Students who have completed program learning are expected:

1. to have a solid theoretical foundation and systematical knowledge of energy engineering and engineering thermophysics; proficient in one language with certificates of the national unified test CET 4 or above, plus a good knowledge of humanities, arts and social science;

2. to master systematically the technical theories and  basic knowledge in professional field, including mechanics, engineering thermophysics, energy engineering and computer application;

3. to have rigorous and realistic attitudes towards science and be able solve theoretical and practical problems in the field of energy technology;

4. to be acquainted with the forefront of the research and kee up to date with the trend of modern energy technology developmentmaster the basic methods on information retrieval, data collection and the application of modern information technology for research and study, so as to acquire the necessary engineering technology and knowledge in doing scientific research and experiment, as well as in writing academic thesis;

5. to possess a strong self-learning ability, innovative consciousness and comprehensive quality.

IV. Curriculum and Credit Distribution

1. General Education Courses (54 credits)

Requirements: 44 credits for compulsory courses;10 credits for elective courses  

2. Basic Disciplinary Courses (42 credits)

    Requirements: the total of 42 credits for basic courses in the Discipline.

3. Specialty-Oriented  Courses(56 credits)

Requirements: 40 credits for compulsory specialty-oriented courses; 16 credits for elective specialty-oriented courses.

4. Optional Courses(6 credits)

Requirements: 6 credits.
