I. Educational Objectives
This program is designed to train senior professionals who are familiar with basic theories of modern management, economics, information management and information systems, skillful in methods and basic procedures of information management and information systems analysis and design, possess strong management skills, information technology skills and innovative capacity, and are apt to work in fields such as information management, information systems analysis, design, implementation, management and evaluation in a variety of industries (ports and shipping, logistics in particular).
II. Education Requirements
Students of this major are expected to have a solid understanding of the basic knowledge of economics, management and computer application, proficient in the theories, methods and techniques of information management and information system analysis and design, have a strong background in ports and shipping and logistics, capable in applying the learned knowledge and skills in solving problems related to information management, information system analysis, design, implementation and management.
The graduates should obtain knowledge and abilities of the following aspects:
1. Mastery of the basic theory and knowledge of management and economics;
2. Mastery of the basic theories and knowledge of information management and information systems;
3. Mastery of information systems analysis, design, implementation methods and techniques;
4. Basic abilities in information organization, analysis, dissemination and development;
5. Understanding of the dynamics and development in the field of their profession;
6. Mastery of the basic methods of literature search, data collection, and capable of entry level scientific research and practical work.

1. General Education Courses (48.5 credits)
Requirements: 38.5 credits for compulsory courses;10 credits for elective courses (2 credits for each of the following five major categories: economics, science and technology, law, humanities and the arts, literature and language)
2.Basic Disciplinary Courses (47 credits)
Requirements: the total of 47 credits for basic courses in the Discipline.
3. Specialty-Oriented Courses(55 credits)
Requirements: 40 credits for compulsory specialty-oriented courses; 15 credits for elective specialty-oriented courses.
