I.  Educational Objectives

Students of this major are required to master basic theoretical knowledge in the domain of logistics engineering and accept fundamental training of analyzing and solving practical problems of logistics enterprises by applying logistics engineering theory and approach. The major is aimed at cultivating application-oriented talents in engineering who are supposed to be capable of planning, designing and developing logistics management system.

II. Education Requirements

This major is designed to cultivate senior interdisciplinary talents and professional technical personnel who integrate the knowledge of engineering and management science. The students are capable of undertaking the following activities: applying, developing and planning modern logistics technology; designing, constructing, managing and operating logistics system; planning, managing and operating the production logistics in port handling enterprises, logistics-related enterprises and manufacturing enterprises; developing and maintaining logistics information transfer technology and logistics information system; applying and maintaining logistics equipment.Upon graduation, students are expected

1.     to master the basic theoretical knowledge of logistics engineering discipline, and its application prospect;

2.     to be familiar with the analytical approach of systematic management as well as  the management technology;

3.     to acquire the basic knowledge of logistics facilities.

IV. Curriculum and Credit Distribution

1. General Education Courses: 54 credits (among which 44 credits for compulsory courses and 10 credits for elective courses 

2. Basic Disciplinary Courses: 42.5 credits (no less than 42.5)

3. Specialty-Oriented Courses: 54.5 credits (among which 40.5 credits for compulsory specialty-oriented courses and 14 credits for elective specialty-oriented courses)

4. Optional Courses: 6 credits (no less than 6)

5. Second Class(Extracurricular Activities): 3 credits (no less than 3)
