I. Educational Objectives
This program is aimed at cultivating high level art and design professionals with expertise in visual communication design and digital art design, a fair grasp of the basic knowledge and theories of art and design and the specific design methods, and proficiency in visual innovation and design skills. In addition, students should have profound knowledge of art and humanities, the ingenuity to combine modern art and technology, and the ability to engage in art design and innovation.
II. Education Requirements
This program focuses on the integration of art and technology, the exploration of assortments of art design forms, the cultivation of systematic, innovative and practical mindset, the education of progressive design philosophies, and the comprehensive development of creativity, uniqueness, computer skills, practical skills and the ability to express advanced skills.
Upon graduation, students are supposed to acquire knowledge and abilities listed as follows:
1. Understanding of the guidelines, policies and regulations concerning economic, cultural, artistic undertakings, and the dynamic and development of art and design home and abroad;
2. Profound knowledge of natural sciences and art and humanities, and the ability to use it in art design;
3. Mastery of the basic theory of art and design, and a solid foundation of knowledge;
4. Systematic knowledge of the techniques and skills of the profession;
5. Basic level of foreign language skills, and abilities to access materials in foreign languages;
6. Aesthetic appreciation and art design creativity;
7. Basic abilities to analyze and solve professional problem;
8. Primary computer skills and art design software skills, and capable of visual communication design and digital design;
9. Abilities to independently carry out thematic art and design innovation.
